Think that your information is safe with your health insurance company? Think again. In this story, a woman has her Social Security number stolen by someone at her health care company. She now is a victim of idenity theft and she was just about to buy a new home. This spotlights the problem of using a Social Security number as an ID number. It was never designed to function as an ID, but that's the way a lot of companies in the health industy are using it.
